Edward S. Kozlowski, M.S. Financial Planning
Lighthouse Financial Advisors
After nearly two decades working as a Finance Manager for UPS, Ed
Kozlowski’s dream was to help fellow UPS employees with unbiased
financial advice in regards to their UPS benefits. Ed, who has always
enjoyed aiding others with financial matters, says his dream stemmed
from the fact that while working for UPS many fellow management
employees would call upon his financial expertise or opinion in regard
to their benefits with the company. Ed believes UPS employees receive
one of the best benefit packages available with any company; however,
very little education on how to make the most of their benefits is
provided. The need to be educated in the area of UPS benefits becomes
even more prevalent when UPS became a publicly traded company in 1999.
After several years of watching his UPS benefits yo-yo up and down, Ed
decided to take control of his own financial future and educate himself
in the field of financial planning.
Armed with his bachelor of science degree in Accounting, acquired in
1988 from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., Ed enrolled in the Masters
in Financial Planning program at the College of Financial Planning in
Denver, Colo. in 2003. While continuing to work full-time at UPS as a
Finance Manager, Ed completed the necessary requirements and graduated
with honors in March of 2006 with a master of science degree in
Financial Planning. He is registered as a securities representative with
SII Investments.
Ed believes the key to a strong financial future is to have a customized
comprehensive financial plan that encompasses not only investment
planning, but also tax planning, estate planning and insurance planning.
Ed strongly feels each component must be planned in conjunction with
each of the other components to create a road map or heading that will
allow one to reach his/her financial goals safely.
In the summer of 2006, Ed joined Lighthouse Financial Advisors. As a
member of the Lighthouse team, Ed hopes to help others create a
financial security blanket.
Ed lives in New Market, Md. with his wife Mindy and their daughter
Lindsey. They also have a son, Bryan, is at Towson University. Ed
believes that happiness in life can be achieved by having a plan that
allows people to take care of their mental, physical, personal and
social well-being.
